There’s no mistaking Durham’s Consett Academy for sport, and no need to explain why Team GB continue to excel in the Olympics because projects like this really do deliver excellence. The pool to the rear is much safer as the effects of glare on the surface of the water are reduced to a safe level as the motorised solar shading system tracks the sun keeping direct sunlight out.

Technical Scope

WPL’s solar shading operating fins at 1.2 metres wide and 6 metres high may not impress in the long jump but for engineering prowess they take the gold.
