A complete exterior transformation of The Runnymede Hotel on the banks of the Thames in Egham, Surrey. Elliott Group brought WPL in alongside PWP Architects to deliver one of the most comprehensive facade packages in the company’s history.

Five distinct product types, all manufactured in Bolton and finished in the same WRC timber effect powder coat, work together as a single architectural language across the building. Vertical brise soleil runs the full height of the upper floors, filtering sunlight into guest rooms while giving the facade depth and rhythm. At balcony level, perforated rainscreen panels sit alongside expanded mesh for ventilation and visual screening, with cladding flashings trimming every junction and edge. Existing concrete columns and soffits were clad to match, replacing exposed structure with a warmth that greets guests before they reach the door.

Five products, one finish, one complete facade package.

Technical Scope

Vertical brise soleil, perforated aluminium rainscreen panels, expanded mesh screening, cladding flashings, column and soffit cladding. All WRC timber effect powder coated. Designed, manufactured, and installed by WPL UK.
