WPL has published its Carbon Reduction commitment, aligning with the UK government’s net zero framework and setting out a practical approach to measuring and reducing emissions across its operations and supply chain.
The commitment reflects work already underway. WPL sources aluminium from extrusion partners with verified recycled billet programmes, ISO 14001 environmental management certification, and independently audited carbon intensity data. The company also employs installation teams local to each project site, reducing travel emissions as a standard practice rather than an aspiration.
Rather than publishing estimated figures, WPL has committed to developing a formal Carbon Reduction Plan using the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. The plan will establish a baseline year, measure Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, and report progress annually.
Richard Rowson, Commercial Director, said: “We are not claiming to have all the answers today. What we are doing is being transparent about where we are, honest about what we can and cannot control, and committed to measuring and improving year on year. Our clients and supply chain partners deserve that.”
